Sasha Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Background BSI has developed a standards roadmap to support growth and industrialization of Future Flight in the UK. Standards are identified that support Routine commercial piloted eVTOL operations and initial autonomous eVTOL operations. Identification and Prioritization Existing national and international regulatory frameworks, Future Flight Challenge projects and broader stakeholder engagement were used to compile an initial long list of standards. Standards were then prioritized based on their potential to be used as acceptable means of compliance (AMC) for regulatory frameworks. Find out more about our work in this space through BSI Flex 1906, Acceptable means of compliance to Specific Operation Risk Assessment (SORA). For the themes that are expected to be heavily driven by regulatory frameworks, and where regulations already exist that refer to standards as AMC, these regulations are listed first. Please note the difference between regulations and standards. Note To highlight standards specifically for Future Flight, applicable standards from conventional aviation are not included, e.g. ARP4754/ED-79, Guidelines for development of civil aircraft and systems DO-178C/ED-12C, Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification DO-254/ED-80, Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware DO-160G, Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment For any term definitions, please see our free, interactive Future Flight Vocabulary.
